A Bad Hand?
Worship Series - We Live, We Love

"I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another." -- John 13:34
How do we live and love in right relationship with God and one another? Our human frailty and fear keep showing up. Relationships are difficult! In the most ancient stories of our Judeo-Christian tradition, we discover that to live is to love. Let's uncover the wisdom of these narratives.

Sermon:  "A Bad Hand?"
Scripture: Genesis 39
Bad things happen to good people all the time. We live. We love. We try to do the right thing and still sometimes we get a bad hand in life. Joseph is wrongfully accused and sent to jail. Who and where is God in the midst of bad times? Joseph becomes the conduit, even in jail, for the blessing of God on all around him.

Dinners for Eight 2018

We had a great start to our 2018 Dinners for Eight sign up at Groovin’ at the Grove in September. We will continue sign ups on Sunday mornings in November at the welcome center in either the narthex (foyer) of the sanctuary or the fellowship hall entry of the contemporary service. Dinners for Eight is designed to help us get to know one another a little bit better outside of Sunday morning. It doesn't matter if you are young or young at heart, couple or single, new to SGUMC or seasoned veteran. Consider joining together this winter with other SGUMC friendly faces to enjoy some good food and fellowship. After the kick-off in January for the entire group, participants are placed in rotating groups of eight and gather once a month in homes from February to April. Questions? Contact Pam Thompson at 360-3162 (home). EMAIL PAM
