When are your worship services?
We have 4 weekly worship services:
- 8:15 AM Traditional in the Sanctuary
- 9:30 AM Blended in the Sanctuary
- 11:00 AM Blended in the Sanctuary
- 11:00 AM Contemporary in the Fellowship Hall
We also offer Taize worship services four times per year, on Monday evenings in our Chapel,
February 22, May 24, September 27, and November 22 at 7:30 p.m..
What about my children?
Our professional childcare staff provides childcare for infants to kindergarten at all services. Our childcare space is located in our Education building, immediately adjacent to our Sanctuary. In addition to childcare we offer Sunday School opportunities during all service times. From a one room school house approach, to a more structured age differentiated class time, to the Children's Moment, and Children's Own Worship (COW) we provide children with meaningful curriculum, fun, fellowship, and opportunities to experience different elements of worship. We are intentional at all age levels recognizing that a child's faith journey begins early and continues into adulthood.
What should I expect?
Our 8:15 AM service is a traditional service held in the Sanctuary with Holy Communion served every week. Our 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM Sanctuary services are blended having elements of traditional, contemporary, and in between depending on the scripture and message of the day. Our 11:00 AM Contemporary Service is held in our Fellowship Hall. Our services usually last about 60 minutes and we invite you to try them all.
We have coffee, juice, and refreshments available in the fellowship hall between services.
What should I wear?
Of course, we don't have a dress code. You can wear whatever you want. Most people dress relatively informally; business casual is what most people wear at Shady Grove on a Sunday morning. On Sunday evenings the dress is more informal (shorts, jeans, t-shirts) - truly a "come as you are" atmosphere!
