Susan D’Angelo Brown is a professional artist who has taught private studio art classes for 26 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University and studied with Harvey Dinnerstein at the National Academy of Fine Arts in New York. Her portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt hangs in the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute of Human Rights in Washington, D.C. She has exhibited her work in the U.S. and in China where she lived for over 8 years.
 
Sue was the founder and Chair of the Art Department of The Center for Creative Arts at Shady Grove, and began serving as the Director of The Center in September 2008. Her goal as Director is to enable The Center to fulfill its mission of offering quality instruction in the arts in a nurturing environment to students of all ages, faiths, and skills, and to be an outreach ministry of the Church which can truly “reach, teach, and heal.”
 
Sue’s family includes her husband Chris, her son Caleb, and Zain Ghaznawi, a student from Kabul, Afghanistan. She enjoys painting, teaching, and quiet times in nature.
